Minima Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Mykonos, Greece. It opened in 1996, and since then it has become a major force in the Greek art scene, showcasing some of the most influential Greek and international contemporary artists of our time. The gallery occupies three floors of a renovated building in the old town of Mykonos, and works closely with major Greek and international institutions, sponsors and foundations in order to promote major contemporary art exhibitions and events.

The gallery itself is divided into two distinct sections: the ground floor and the mezzanine. The first floor serves as a main exhibition area, where works from a variety of established, emergent and up-and-coming contemporary artists are showcased in all their forms – from paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations and photography. It also hosts a range of lectures and performances from artists who have been featured at the gallery.

The mezzanine, which is accessed by a stunning spiral staircase, hosts a permanent exhibition space which displays the gallery’s permanent collection. Specializing in works of contemporary photography, sculpture and more, the gallery hosts exhibitions which explore themes like social, political and cultural issues, as well as abstract and surrealistic art.

In addition to the exhibitions, Minima Gallery also provides services such as curation and conservation, facilitating access to important artworks and helping to promote both debut and established artists. Events such as workshops, special opening-night receptions and parties are also regularly held in the across the gallery, offering opportunities for the local audience to engage and experience art in a variety of different ways.

Ultimately, the goal of Minima Gallery is to further the appreciation and understanding of contemporary art. On each of its floors, it strives to display artworks in their most effective way, showcasing each as a unique experience and as a contribution to contemporary artistic expression. As a result, the gallery has been well-received by both the international art world and locals alike, and is seen looking forward to being expanded and offering more. In the end, Minima Gallery hopes to be the go-to location for anyone who wishes to experience and simply understand contemporary art as well as its complex forms.

Established since the late 1990s in Mykonos Greece, Minima Gallery showcases a range of contemporary artworks by both upcoming Greek and foreign artists. This includes the work of a small list of sculptors as well as its more comprehensive painting displays. The style of its exhibits range from the highly colourful abstract to stunning examples of landscape photography, meaning that Minima will appeal to a wide range of tastes and interests. There are a number of big names presented here in an exhibition space that is, as the name suggests, minimally decorated so as not to detract from the work.
